Hotel was quirky but nice if a little tired. It needs a new GM and Head chef. the service was disgracefully bad at every juncture. Happy hour half priced drinks, they said they had charged full price for so we should just pay 3/4 of the full price, and it was for drinks we had not ordered. A massage was booked for 5pm - on arrival we were told it was 5.30, we said OK, they said the therapist who booked the appointment and was due to do the massage had gone home sick, and not written the appointment in the diary - we asked how they knew it was her, and how they knew it was 5.30 - just an embarrassed look, and no explanation why they could not even let us know in advance. Breakfast was over 40 minutes and they got the first attempt completely wrong, and the second had 3 out of 5 items ordered as the Full English breakfast. They were chased 3 times, the head chef Clement just disappeared when asked, having spent most of the time playing with the pet parrot (who was very cool) other failures too long and boring to list. Service is a battle with disinterested uncaring individuals - be warned.
