We were so looking forward to this break and if we could have cancelled the second night we would have left.
Pros. Staff very helpful bar one male receptionist.
Views from the Red Piano Bar are lovely but the Lagoon is far from Blue, it is murky green with rubbish floating in it.
Cons. There are 8-10 deck chairs round a very small pool so not a lot of chance of getting one.
Once checked in we went to the Pool are, no chairs, but space on a sofa so we wanted to order a drink, we were told the Barman was in a meeting....
You cannot book a Spa as they are always busy ( quote from Hotel reception - so no wonder they can give you a card for 20% off ) as this Village caters for outside members as well as hotel guests.
On a Friday, if you do not reserve a seat at the Bar area, then hard luck and they do not tell you this on check in.
We were given a room with a terrace, then discovered it was shared with 2 other rooms and there were 4 chairs and 2 small tables and the room next to us took ours. We reported this, nothing happened. Also no privacy as there are no net curtains at the window, and the view is of the car park and trees.
The Pillow are absolutely useless.
The Airconditioner was noisy and leaked so the floor was always wet by the door which was dangerous. It was reported but nothing happened, the Bathroom does not have walls to the ceiling so if you have a husband you likes to shower at 6 a.m.after the Gym, it is Noisy and also it has a small glass panel so the water goes all over the floor as well.
On the 2nd and last day, they kept telling me my Eggs florentine were coming and after 20 mins I gave up waiting and we decided to check out. At least my husband got his poached eggs disguised at boiled eggs after 10 mins. Fruit selection very poor, healthy squeezed vegetable juice as great. There were 5 other people in the breakfast room.
On check out they asked for our doorkey , which we had left in the room. they said they could not find it so it would cost us 100 rupees to replace this piece of plastic.
They advertise tennis courts but can not arrange to have anyone play with you as they do in all other hotels round the Island.
Would I recommend staying here. NO. maybe a nice place for a drink and a meal if you are feeling rich.
